DAY 1 : Guwahati to Shillong - Transfer and sightseeing Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, meet our representative and begin your scenic drive to Shillong, the charming capital of Meghalaya, often referred to as the "Scotland of the East." En route, stop at the picturesque Umiam Lake (Barapani), a beautiful man-made reservoir surrounded by lush green hills, perfect for photography and relaxation. Continue your journey through the winding hill roads and reach Shillong. If time permits, visit Ward's Lake, Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, or explore the vibrant Police Bazaar for shopping and local delicacies. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Shillong.

DAY 2 : Shillong to Shillong - Local Sight Seeing After breakfast, set out for a full-day sightseeing tour of Shillong, the picturesque capital of Meghalaya. Visit the panoramic Shillong Peak (subject to permission), the highest point in the city, followed by the beautiful Elephant Falls. Continue to Ward's Lake, a serene artificial lake surrounded by well-maintained gardens, and visit the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, one of the most prominent churches in the region. Explore the Don Bosco Museum (closed on Sundays) to learn about the rich culture and heritage of Northeast India, followed by a visit to the Lady Hydari Park. Later, enjoy leisure time at the bustling Police Bazaar, where you can shop for local handicrafts, souvenirs, and savour regional delicacies. Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight stay in Shillong.

DAY 3 : Shillong to Shillong - Cherrapunji Day Tour After an early breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Cherrapunji (Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth, known for its breathtaking landscapes, waterfalls, and limestone caves. En route, enjoy panoramic views from Shillong Peak (subject to permission) and Elephant Falls before driving through the scenic Khasi Hills. Visit the spectacular Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls (seasonal), and Eco Park, offering stunning views of the Bangladesh plains. DAY 4 : Shillong to Shillong - Dawki & Mawlynnong Day Excursion After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Dawki and Mawlynnong, two of Meghalaya's most popular attractions. Drive through picturesque countryside to Dawki, famous for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River, where you can enjoy an optional boat ride (at your own cost) and admire the transparent river. Visit the historic India–Bangladesh Border at Tamabil before proceeding to Mawlynnong, renowned as the "Cleanest Village in Asia." Explore the village's beautifully maintained pathways, gardens, and the unique Living Root Bridge, along with the Sky View Point built from bamboo, offering panoramic views of the surrounding plains of Bangladesh. Continue to the Umananda Temple, located on Peacock Island in the Brahmaputra River (ferry ride subject to weather and operational conditions). Later, visit the Assam State Museum (closed on Mondays), Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, and the Basistha Temple, known for its serene surroundings. I had a wonderful time on this tour! The itinerary covered so many beautiful places, especially in Assam and Meghalaya.
